dhn_askmax2Dear Max,

What can I do to keep my dog entertained during the day? Over the summer there was always someone home with Copper but now that the kids are back in school and with both my wife and I at work I worry that she will feel neglected and bored.

– Sedentary Dog Owner

Dear Sedentary,

There are lots of things you can do to make Copper's time at home alone pass more quickly and pleasantly. When my people go off to do their important chores, I know now that they'll leave me with fun and relaxing opportunities (depending on my mood) that I can enjoy on my own.

Well first, before they leave, they tire me out with a walk or maybe some playtime. And I often take a snooze after that. But when I wake up, the proactive measures they've taken for me boost my spirits immensely while I'm holding down the fort. Here's an article that offers several steps you can take to keep Copper entertained and relaxed, not bored or stressed, while the rest of the family is out of the house: KEEPING YOUR DOG HAPPY, ACTIVE, AND ENTERTAINED WHILE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE AWAY
